These sexy veggie-loving celebs have captured the hearts of many with their comedic charm and compassionate choices. Russell, a vegetarian since the age of 14, keeps us endlessly entertained with his wit and crazy antics, which always leave us wanting more. PETA is holding its annual Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrities contest, and need you to help to decide who will take top honors in 2011. Voting for this round of the Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity contest will be via Twitter, so check out the uber-sexy nominees and follow these easy steps to tweet your vote from this page and help us decide the winners! Voting for the first round to help PETA select the finalists ends on June 17, 2011, at 5 p.m. EDT. Finalist-round voting to help PETA decide the winners will be held from June 20, 2011, to June 24, 2011. The winners will be announced on June 28, 2011.

1 juni 2011: Mooi hoor, de uitslag van de World’s Sexiest Vegetarian Next Door 2011 contest is weer bekend. De winnaars zijn Kate uit Lookout Mountain, Tennessee en Jason uit Waconia, Minneapolis. Van harte gefeliciteerd.

12 april 2011: Zo, de finalisten van de World’s Sexiest Vegetarian Next Door 2011 contest zijn bekend en dat betekent dat we weer kunnen stemmen. Op 31 mei worden de winnaars bekend gemaakt en weten we wie de meest sexy vegetarians in de wereld zijn. Eén bij de mannen en één bij de vrouwen. Nu nog even stemmen, dat kon nog tot en met 23 mei 2011.

1 juli 2010: Geweldig, de uitslag van The Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrities of 2010 is bekend gemaakt en de winnaars zijn Olivia Wilde en Bob Harper.

The results are in—and actor Olivia Wilde and NBC’s The Biggest Loser trainer Bob Harper have been crowned the Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrities of 2010!

Animal lover and activist Olivia Wilde proves that being vegan helps one shine from the inside out. She has saved lives on Fox’s hit show House and has saved the lives of animals off-screen by choosing a vegan diet. Going vegan saves the lives of about 100 animals a year! Olivia explains, “Beyond my desire to boycott the torture factories, I am also way happier when I eat a plant based diet, and I feel about a thousand times more energetic.” Whether she’s helping animals and the environment or starring in upcoming films like Tron and Cowboys & Aliens, we can’t wait to see more from Olivia.

Bob Harper whips people into shape on NBC’s The Biggest Loser and relies on a vegan diet to keep him in top form. “I enjoy living a plant-based diet because it makes me feel clear headed and strong, not to mention my genetically high cholesterol dropped more than 100 points,” says Harper. “That was all the motivation I needed.”. 24 april 2010: De winnaars zijn bekend gemaakt. Bij de dames is de hoofdprijs voor Marie uit Bonita Springs, Florida en bij de mannen was Loyal uit Milwaukee, Wisconsin de gelukkige winnaar.

This Israeli-born beauty has been an animal lover since childhood and has been a vegetarian since her teens. But Marie doesn’t spend her time thinking about what she can’t eat as a vegetarian—she spends her days creating delicious gourmet food from a plethora of cruelty-free ingredients in her job as a personal chef! Op 14 april worden de winnaars bekend gemaakt en weten we wie de meest sexy vegetarians in de wereld zijn. Eén bij de mannen en één bij de vrouwen. Nu nog even stemmen.

18 februari 2010: U kunt weer stemmen voor de verkiezing van de World’s Sexiest Vegetarian Next Door 2010. Ook dit jaar is er weer een mooie lijst met mooie, sexy dames waar u uit kunt kiezen en er is weer de verkiezing bij de mannen. Stemmen voor de eerste ronde kan tot 12 maart 2010. Nieuw dit jaar is dat u ook zelf mee kunt doen. Aanmelden kan nog tot 12 maart 2010.

28 februari 2009: Zo, de winnaars zijn weer bekend gemaakt. Bij de dames heeft de mij volkomen onbekende Amber uit Minnetonka, Minnesota gewonnen. Bij de mannen ging de titel naar ene Monty uit Los Angeles, California. Gefeliciteerd.

U kunt weer stemmen. Dit keer voor de verkiezing van de World’s Sexiest Vegetarian Next Door 2009. U kunt weer kiezen uit een hele lijst sexy dames en uiteraard is er ook een mogelijkheid om te kiezen voor de man van uw keuze. Nieuw dit jaar is een aparte Europese verkiezing. Die sexy dames en heren kunt u hier vinden. Uw stem uitbrengen voor de eerste ronde kan nog tot 24 maart.

In 2001 werd de verkiezing voor de Sexiest Vegetarian Alive voor het eerst georganiseerd door PeTA en de trotse winnares was Shania Twain die in de jaren daarna werd opgevolgd door Natalie Portman en Tobey Maguire (2002), Lauren Bush en Josh Hartnett (2003), Alicia Silverstone en Andre 3000 (2004), Carrie Underwood en Chris Martin (2005), Kristin Bell en Prince (2006) en vorig jaar waren het Carrie Underwood en Kevin Eubanks die de verkiezing wonnen. 2008: U kunt kiezen uit een lange lijst beroemdheden en kunt uw stem uitbrengen op één dame en één heer. Ik moet zeggen dat ik Alicia Silverstone toch tip als één van de favorieten. Dat komt niet in de laatste plaats door haar optreden in PeTA’s first-ever naked vegetarian testimonial, zie het filmpje.

De strijd is gestreden, de stemmen zijn geteld en de uitslag is bekend. Popster Leona Lewis, wie kent haar niet als winnares van het wereldberoemde X-Factor, werd bij de dames uitgeroepen tot de meest sexy vegetarier van 2008. Bij de mannen ging die eer naar Anthony Kiedis, zanger van de Red Hot Chili Peppers die is uitgeroepen tot de meest sexy vegetariër van 2008.
