Green School Bali: International Day of Education 2022
We seem to have a global consensus on the fact that education models need to change. ‘How we do that’ however, is something that is still being debated. Green School was built out of this very desire; to transform education, and that is what we’ve been doing for more than a decade now.
Reflected in the theme of this year’s #InternationalDayOfEducation – Changing course, transforming education – we asked our educators “how they are transforming education” and this is what they had to say.

Green School Bali: A Look Back on Voices Day 2021
“We challenge the notion that the status quo must remain when it only serves the few, we have to be open to the Voices who are not regularly given a platform and who continue to fight for social justice, for women, girls and mama earth.” – Harriett Burrows, Head of High School
It is so important for us at Green School to give a platform to intersectional feminist voices. We rise in solidarity with the One Billion Rising Movement, with our female-identifying peers. We use art as resistance, “To reclaim, express, defy, disrupt, unite, radicalize, awaken, revolutionise, and to create Joy, Hope and Transformation.”
Watch this video to hear student voices from last year’s V-Day movement at Green School Bali.
We are excited to share more voices and new methods of expression from V-Day this year, taking place on the 14th of February.
