World Green Building Congress China 2010: Breaking the Green Building Bottleneck
Geschreven op 10-8-2010 - Erik van Erne. Geplaatst in Agenda, Bouwen-KlussenIn the ever growing global construction market, Asia is one of the fastest expanding regions. China with annual increase over 9% definitely stands out as the biggest market demands for green building technologies and designs ever since it realized saving energy and reducing GHG emission is just as important as the country’s economic growth.
Chinese government also realized sustainable development is a long way to go since China today has 40 billion square meters’ buildings in service and above 95% of them are highly energy-consuming yet with extreme low efficiencies 2 or 3 times lower than those in the developed countries. Therefore the National Development and Reform Committee (NDRC), Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MHRUD) and Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) have pushed forward several industry standards in order to create a healthy market for international design firms and solution vendors.
World Green Building Congress China 2010 will be held in Shanghai in order to provide such a platform for government officials to deliver the latest policies and trend in China, for a number of chinese real estate developers to find international design firms, engineering firms and equipment vendors; for R&D elites to discuss and exhibit some latest technical solutions and last but not least for industry leaders to share some market insights and vision for the future.
With the theme of “Breaking the Green Building Bottleneck, Constructing the Low-carbon Harmonious Country”, WGBC 2010 focuses on the planning and designing of green building projects by Chinese real estate companies and design companies based on the world leading green building rating systems. The relationship between government agencies and real estate developers is the most important key player in WGBC 2010, as they are the key promoters in the industry. Then it will also provide the perfect platform for designing groups, construction companies, and suppliers to figure out an efficient way to promote their business with other organizations.
