A New Technology for a Beautiful Garden: The Garden Sensor by NNT Docomo

If you want to have a beautiful garden, but don’t have green thumbs, there is a new technology by NNT Docomo being released to help.
In a world where technology has helped free up precious cognitive power by helping us out with simple everyday tasks such as opening doors and turning off lights, there comes help in the garden as well. NTT Docomo has just released the Garden Sensor in Japan.
This little key-shaped device gets stuck in the soil near your veggie plants and is equipped with moisture and light sensors. The data it collects is then sent to the experts at Docomo who analyze the condition of your garden and provide advice via email, phone, or text message on how to better tend to it. It is not apparent if Docomo has also considered other necessary conditions for a healthy garden such as nutrient and pH levels. Nevertheless, it’s a cute idea that may help the person who has never had gardening success. The Garden Sensor will be available as a test product starting in 2011. Source: Akihabara News
