Geschreven op 2-9-2010 - Erik van Erne. Geplaatst in Agenda, KlimaatClimate change is inevitable—and although Matthew Kahn thinks it is too late to stop its progress, he also believes there is still time to prepare civilization for the hotter climate of the future.
In his book, Climatopolis, UCLA Professor Matthew Kahn examines the ironic role capitalism has played in both causing climate change, and how free market capitalism will also provide solutions for the future. His book uses case studies of cities around to the globe to predict how societies will adapt to rising temperatures through developing new technologies for strategies for survival.
He joins the World Affairs Council to discuss the application of capitalism to environmentalism, and his findings prove surprisingly optimistic.
