11 June 2019: Climate Week NYC will take place this year from September 23 to 29 2019.
Run in coordination with the UN and the City of New York, Climate Week continues to grow as the time and place for the world to showcase amazing climate action and discuss how to do more.
The anchor events of Climate Week are growing, and the number of events in 2019 is set to far exceed the 150 events of 2018 – the largest ever.
Climate Week is run by The Climate Group, the international non-profit focused on accelerating climate action.
During Climate Week this year, the UN Secretary General will be holding a Climate Action Summit (held every 5 years) on the Monday. We are happy to announce that Climate Week will support the Summit by providing a space for leading organizations around the world to extend action far and wide outside of the UN building and throughout the whole week.
In 2019, the week-long series of events at Climate Week will be organized around programs reflecting the core pillars of the UN’s summit. We invite businesses, governments and civil society to host events on the areas of energy transition, industry, finance, cities and regional action, natural solutions and resilience/adaptation – further program categories will be announced in due course. We will coordinate with the Secretary General’s office – allowing for multiple additional linked events and for everyone to have the chance to take part in this huge moment.
18 July 2017: Climate Week NYC is the collaborative space for climate events in support of the Paris Climate Agreement and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and we are proud to be convening the ninth annual summit from September 18-24 2017.
Climate Week NYC takes place alongside the UN General Assembly and brings together over 100 affiliate events across New York City, while reaching an audience of over 500 million people globally.
15 September 2010: Between 20-26 September, on the sidelines of the United Nations’ General Assembly meeting, The Climate Group will host Climate Week NY C 2010, a global forum to mobilize an international public-private response to climate change.
As hundreds of government and business leaders from around the world converge upon New York City to discuss Millennium Development Goals, many of these leaders will take part in Climate Week NY C to explore how progressive policy and finance mechanisms can unlock a clean industrial revolution necessary to generate sustainable low carbon development, boost energy security, create jobs and end global poverty.
Less than seventy days before the United Nations’ climate summit in Cancun – New York City will once again be the epicenter of the climate action dialogue: Climate Week NY C will bring together The United Nations, The City of New York, the UN Foundation, The Carbon Disclosure Project and an array of international business, government and non-profit organizations to create a series of roundtables and activities on climate action and the innovative public-private partnerships required to unleash a prosperous clean revolution.
