The connections between Monsanto and the FDA are very alarming, many highly influential politicians have worked for and or have tie with Monsanto. We are told that the FDA can be trusted but when you look at the facts they prove they can’t when it comes to Monsanto.
In order for the FDA to determine if Monsanto’s growth hormones were safe or not, Monsanto was required to submit a scientific report on that topic. Margaret Miller, one of Monsanto’s researchers put the report together. Shortly before the report submission, Miller left Monsanto and was hired by the FDA. Her first job for the FDA was to determine whether or not to approve the report she wrote for Monsanto. In short, Monsanto approved its own report. Assisting Miller was another former Monsanto researcher, Susan Sechen. Deciding whether or not rBGH-derived milk should be labeled fell under the jurisdiction of another FDA official, Michael Taylor, who previously worked as a lawyer for Monsanto.

The reason? As with many other cases, such as the ones that led certain farming regions to be known as the ‘suicide belt’, Monsanto has been reportedly taxing the farmers to financial shambles with ridiculous royalty charges.
The farmers state that Monsanto has been unfairly gathering exorbitant profits each year on a global scale from “renewal” seed harvests, which are crops planted using seed from the previous year’s harvest.
The practice of using renewal seeds dates back to ancient times, but Monsanto seeks to collect massive royalties and put an end to the practice. Why? Because Monsanto owns the very patent to the genetically modified seed, and is charging the farmers not only for the original crops, but the later harvests as well. Eventually, the royalties compound and many farmers begin to struggle with even keeping their farm afloat.
It is for this reason that India slammed Monsanto with groundbreaking ‘biopiracy’ charges in an effort to stop Monsanto from ‘patenting life’. Read more at Natural Curues Not Medicine

Nederlandse Regering Wil Monsanto Groen Licht Geven voor Glyfosaat
Glyfosaatresten worden gevonden in veel voedsel zoals brood, ontbijtgranen en pasta.
Ook het maken van schoon drinkwater wordt door deze omstreden onkruidbestrijder ook steeds duurder en moeilijker.

Studies Over Giftigheid Glyfosaat Mogen Niet Geheim Worden Gehouden
Studies over de mate van giftigheid van het omstreden onkruidgif glyfosaat en hoe kankerverwekkend dat mogelijk is, moeten openbaar worden gemaakt. Het besluit van de European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) om die studies geheim te houden, is door het Gerecht van de Europese Unie teruggedraaid.
De rechters vinden het belang van het publiek om toegang tot informatie te hebben in dit geval zwaarder wegen dan het belang van onder meer de chemiereus Monsanto, die het glyfosaathoudende middel Roundup maakt. Burgers hebben het recht om te weten wat de gevolgen zijn als de stof in het milieu terechtkomt, is het oordeel.
De zaak was door onder anderen Europarlementariërs van groene partijen aangespannen. EFSA had gezegd dat openbaarmaking de commerciële en financiële belangen van de industrie ernstig zou schaden. De EFSA heeft twee maanden de tijd om in hoger beroep te gaan.
De waakhond had gesteld dat de stof niet kankerverwekkend is, hoewel sommige wetenschappers daar anders over denken. De betreffende studies gaan over onder meer testen met glyfosaat op ratten en muizen.
De Europarlementariërs reageren opgetogen op het vonnis. “Een overwinning in de strijd tegen geheimzinnigheid als het gaat over de milieu- en gezondheidsrisico’s van gevaarlijke producten als glyfosaat”, aldus de Belg Bart Staes.
Het publiek en onafhankelijke wetenschappers kunnen volgens hem voortaan zien hoe chemische bedrijven hun eigen rapporten schrijven om toestemming te krijgen om hun producten op de markt te krijgen. Greenpeace spreekt van “een grote stap naar meer transparantie en verantwoording in het Europese besluitvormingsproces”.
Er is de laatste jaren veel discussie over het gebruik van glyfosaat. De Europese vergunning hiervoor werd in 2017 met vijf jaar verlengd.
