In de Wieringermeer is het eerste Parthenon Green by Design Datacentrum geopend op Agriport A7.

This is the world’s first symbiotic data centre and it is based in the Wieringermeer, Agriport A7. Parthenon 1 is a large data centre designed with high levels of redundancy for excellent availability. It combines connection to two high voltage power stations, back up by diesel generators, dynamic UPS and additional back up by CHP units. Heat dissipated by the servers is harvested for reuse by the neighboring greenhouse farmers. Parthenon 1 is a highly secure, scalable, carrier neutral facility. Klinkt natuurlijk allemaal heel mooi. Toch vraag ik mij nog iets af. Waar haal het Parthenon 1 datacentrum zelf de stroom vandaan. Is dat 100% duurzame zelf opgewekte stroom, wat ik wel zou verwachten? Gek genoeg is daarover helemaal niets terug te vinden bij Parthenon Data Centres.
