Energy City Qatar Lusail Development: Finished in 2012

Ashraf Khalaf spoke to Gulf Times on the sidelines of a recent conference about sustainability, and he explained that the concept of green building has become more noticeable in Qatar, with the government providing encouragement for companies to pursue sustainable processes and use renewable resources for construction.
The project will be completed by 2012, despite some delays last year due to the economic downturn and rising cost of raw materials, the Qatari Tribune reported.
ECQ is touted as the Middle East’s first energy business center designed to exclusively cater to the commercial, technical and human resource needs of global and regional energy companies.
