Other productions recognized for spreading a green message were the documentary “Gasland” and TV shows “Bones,” “Handy Manny,” “Living With Ed” and “Lights, Camera, Take Action! Backstage With Disney’s Friends for Change.”
Entrepreneurs Ted Turner and Jeff Skoll received honorary awards for their environmental contributions. Natalie Portman presented Skoll with his award. His namesake foundation has funded organizations such as The Amazon Conservation Team, the American Council on Renewable Energy and Global Footprint Network. Source: Hufftington Post
14-10-2010: When it comes being eco-friendly, the Environmental Media Association – an organization that works closely with the entertainment industry to raise environmental awareness — was on board way before it was cool or trendy.
On Saturday, October 16, the organization is hosting the 20th Annual Environmental Media Association Awards – an event to honor film and television personalities, productions, musicians and musical tours that convey environmental messages in the most creative and influential ways.
