PRO EUROPE Packaging 2020: Cradle to Cradle Management
Geschreven op 17-7-2010 - Erik van Erne. Geplaatst in AgendaPackaging 2020: Cradle to Cradle Management is geared towards an audience interested in learning more about EPR and how it works. Twenty years after the implementation of the first producer responsibility principle for packaging waste in Europe, PRO EUROPE and EUROPEN, want to share European best practice with colleagues in the world.
Twenty years ago, Europe pioneered Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for packaging. Packaged goods companies, suppliers, public authorities, recyclers, consumers and the waste management industry learned to work together. Interest in optimising the life cycle of packaging quickly surged.
Twenty years later, the idea of EPR is spreading to North America and Asia. On the occasion of this 20th anniversary, EUROPEN and PRO EUROPE have the pleasure to invite you on Wednesday October 6 2010 in in Hotel Le Plaza in 1000 Brussels to an international EPR seminar.
High-level experts and decision-makers from the packaging and EPR worlds across Europe and North America will converge in Brussels to take stock. Join them to explore questions such as: What has been achieved? In hindsight, how could EPR have been better designed? Did anything turn out to be an expensive waste of time, or on the contrary, did EPR work much better than expected? What can other regions learn from Europe’s experience? And what does the future behold? How close can we get to the dream of a low cost, zero-impact, cradle-to-cradle packaging industry?
