Recycle Your Underwear by Patagonia
Geschreven op 16-12-2007 - Wolfram. Geplaatst in Afval, Hergebruik-KringloopWay too much of what is made these days ends up in the trash at the end of its useful life. At Patagonia, we’re working to change that.
In 2005 Patagonia launched our Common Threads Recycling Program, through which customers could return their worn out Capilene Performance Baselayers to us for recycling. We’ve now added Patagonia fleece, Polartec fleece from other manufacturers and Patagonia cotton T-shirts to our list of recyclables. Our long-term goal is to take environmental responsibility for everything we make. Please help us by changing your clothes for good.
It’s Easy. Simply give Patagonia your clean, worn-out garments in one of the following ways. Mail them to the Patagonia Service Center at Patagonia Service Center, ATTN: Common Threads Recycling Program, 8550 White Fir Street, Reno, NV 89523-8939
Drop them off at the Patagonia Retail Store nearest you or at one of our Performance Baselayer Dealers. Patagonia Recycle It. Their Common Threads Recycling Program uses a fiber-to-fiber recycling system to make new garments from old. Our research shows the environmental benefits of recycling fabric into new clothing are significant. Since the recycling process breaks the fiber down to the basic building blocks of polyester (monomers), Patagonia garments made from recycled fabric are of equal or better quality than traditional polyester garments. One Last Thing: Patagoni want worn-out garments that are so worked, no one would ever wear them again. So give us the shirt off your back! Source: Patagonia
