Making Recycling Sexy in Sweden: Panta Mera Song by Pantamera
Geschreven op 13-9-2010 - Erik van Erne. Geplaatst in Afval, Hergebruik-KringloopOver a million aliminum cans are sold in Sweden each year. 91% of those cans get recycled.
Another 600 million PET bottles are sold each year too, of which 88% is returned.
This is partially due to the fact that you get money to return the bottles. This is called “PANT”.
They have PANT- machines at all supermarkets and you get cash or money off your shopping for the returned bottles and cans.
Returning bottles instead of throwing them away is ingrained from an early age, but not only is this clever from a money point of view – it’s also wrapped in a very appealing and charming brand, making the whole experience a pleasure to take part in.
More info on Pantamera, but check out this charming movie. The song Guantanamera, becomes ‘Panta Mera’ which simply means: Recycle More! Source: Open Planet Ideas
