Seriously, people, I do not believe that using blogs we can fight something as big as poverty. How on Earth writing about it helps people who starve? Who die because they cannot afford water? Who are scared that the crisis that is upon us will break down their lives?
I just do not understand all that hype – but I do not mind to participate, not in the least. Although I do believe that “writing about poverty” is not the same as “fighting poverty itself”.

And even though I believe that poverty of mind (if I use the terms correctly) is way worse – since this is the only reason there is technical, monetary poverty in the world

Allemaal aardig natuurlijk maar het draait maar om één ding: Geld
Iedereen wilt wat aan het milieu doen als het maar niet te veel kost.
Over energiezuinige auto’s? bestaan allang, echter zit hier weer zoveel kapitaal achter dat moeilijk van de grond komt (opkopen van octrooien), tenzij de oliebaronnen er nog rijker van kunnen worden.
Je kan ook niet van arme boeren (zoals in brazilië) verwachten dat ze het oerbos zullen sparen. hieruit halen zij hun primaire levensbehoeften.
Helaas zolang de kreet “geld is macht” bestaat, zal de echte zorg voor het milieu nog wel lange tijd op zich laten wachten.
Zelfs bij linkse partijen en omroepen geld: links denken en rechts ruim ontvangen. Tja, naar een ver land per vliegtuig, liefst meerdere keren per jaar, is leuk maar ozo vervuilend

Het milieu, zo belangrijk, zo verkeerd begrepen, zovele dubieuze ‘oplossingen’.

Meer asfalt mag niet, auto’s uitlaatgassen laten uitbraken terwijl ze stil staan mag wel. De milieuvriendelijke en recyclebare gloeilamp gaat weg, kwikhoudende spaarlampen komen erin.

De rest bewaar ik maar voor Blog Action Day zelf..
