Matilda Wendelboe has created the world´s first Cradle to Cradle Collection. The garments are made of C2C-certified fabrics that can be either composted or recycled.
-To me as producer, reluctantly adding to the big mountain of waste, C2C is extremely good news, says designer Annika Matilda Wendelboe. By thinking full circle and making products that can be reused without degrading we can achieve ´cradle to cradle´ instead of ´cradle to grave´.
So what is Cradle to Cradle (C2C)? It is the unusual, new and obvious idea: to eliminate waste. Humans are the only creatures on earth that produce waste- the concept does not exist in nature.
A German chemist, Michael Braungart, and an American architect, William Mc Donough, created the idea and are now building houses that generate more energy than they consume.
This inspired brands like Ford to make a C2C-car and Nike to make a C2C-shoe collection.
The Matilda Wendelboe C2C Collection is not yet available in shop, but we hope to be able soon to offer our customers to buy fully compostable/recyclable beautiful garments!
