Insider info: The film isn’t about how to get more friends but centers on the brilliant Harvard students whose online socializing changed the world.
The film revolves around Mark Zuckerberg (Eisenberg), who started Facebook from his dorm room and then became a billionaire. Then there are his friends, including Eduardo Saverin (Garfield), who got shoved to the side of his own bright idea. Meanwhile, Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss (Armie Hammer and Josh Pence) claim all of this was their idea in the first place.
Can you say lawsuits? All of this became part of the 2009 book The Accidental Billionaires by Ben Mezrich, which was optioned for a film and … the rest is history.
Dividends: It’s the leading contender for an awards season sweep, including writing honors for Aaron Sorkin, a directing nod for Fincher, a best picture nom and even a best supporting nod for Timberlake. FYI: The latter won’t just be getting sexy back, but might get some real acting cred for his role as the founder of Napster. Source: Sun Times
